Smashing Pumpkins Adore'd by Hollywood

The Smashing Pumpkins have been honoured with a fresh piece of footpath on Hollywood's Rockwalk, the musical equivalent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Sole surviving band members, frontman Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain, had their hands forever immortalised in LA cement on Wednesday. Corgan, a little reluctant to receive the honours, stated: "I'm so used to bad vibes, people hating our band and throwing things at us. So it's strange to be honoured." He went on to say: "I had to think about it. I had to really lay in bed and think, 'Is this a good thing? Is this a silly thing?' I'm really honoured. I'm really touched."
